What counts as a word?

Each word in your input text is counted. A 500-word essay counts as 500 words. Right now, usage is unlimited and free.

Will it always be free?

The free unlimited tier is available while supplies last. We'll introduce paid plans in the future with plenty of notice.

Are there any limits right now?

No word limits. There are rate limits (60 requests per minute) to keep things fair, but you can humanize as much text as you want.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Just sign up and start using the API immediately. No credit card, no strings attached.

What AI models does ToHuman work with?

ToHuman humanizes text from any AI model — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Mistral, or any other language model. If it's AI-generated text, we can humanize it.

How is this different from a paraphrasing tool?

Paraphrasing tools swap synonyms and rearrange sentences. ToHuman uses a fine-tuned language model to actually rewrite your text so it reads naturally — like a person wrote it from scratch.

Is my content private?

Yes. We run our own self-hosted model — your text is never sent to OpenAI, Google, or any third-party AI provider. Your content is never used for training.

What intensity levels are available?

Four levels: Minimal (light touch, preserves your voice), Subtle (gentle rewording), Medium (balanced rewrite), and Heavy (strong transformation). Choose per request.

Can I use the API and the web dashboard?

Yes. Every account gets both — a web-based humanizer with document history, and full REST API access with an API token for programmatic use.

How fast is the API?

Typical responses take 3-5 seconds depending on text length and intensity. The first request after inactivity may take longer (~40 seconds) due to cold starts on our GPU servers.
